America's Next Top Model open calls commence on February 24, 2012.

The hit CW Television Network competition reality show, America's Next Top Model Cycle 19, is holding open casting calls for aspiring models across the USA. Videotaped submissions are also being accepted. If you've got the looks, the style, and the attitude to rise to the top of the fashion world, this could be your chance to break through. Tyra is looking for Women between the ages of 18 - 27, and are 5'7" and above. Plus size models are encouraged to participate.

America's Next Top Model, often shortened to Top Model or abbreviated as ANTM, is a reality television show in which a number of women compete for the title of America's Next Top Model and a chance to start their career in the modeling industry. The show was created and is hosted by talk-show host and model Tyra Banks, who also serves as the head judge and executive producer of the show. America's Next Top Model airs on the CW Television Network.

America's Next Top Model has become so popular that advertisers paid $61,315 per 30-second slot during the 2011–12 television season, the highest of any series on The CW. The show has won a Directors Guild of America DGA Award for "Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Reality Programs", as well as four Teen Choice Awards. America's Next Top Model was created and is hosted by talk-show host and model Tyra Banks, who also serves as the head judge and executive producer of the show.

Open Casting Call Details

America's Next Top Model has started its search for Cycle 19: The College Edition! If you would like to be considered to be the next top model, then email the casting directors at one of the the addresses below to be considered for the upcoming cycle.

To be considered for ANTM cycle 19, please send an email including your name, age, height, weight, email, phone number, alternate phone number, city you live in, and three (3) photos of yourself (close up, full body, and bikini).

Remember, you must be at least 5'7" tall, between the ages of 18 and 27, and a U.S. citizen to be eligible. Please view the eligibility requirements for full details.

Bring the following with you to the open casting calls:

1) Completed application form, including the Release and Waiver. Applications must be clearly written or typed. You must bring the completed application form with you to the audition.

2) Applicants must provided COPIES of either a driver's license and US Passport OR Social Security Card and Birth Certificate.

3) Applicants must bring 3 recent photos of yourself, each clearly labeled on the back with your name and location.

• One must be a close-up of your face
• The second must be a full-length photograph of your entire (clothed) body
• The third must be a full-length photograph of you wearing a swimsuit
• Only one of these three photographs may be in a black and white.
• The Producers are looking for a variety of models, including plus size models.
• Polaroids are acceptable as long as you are clearly visible.

4) Please note that a videotape is NOT required but it is recommended that you bring one if you have one; and that you follow the guidelines below:

• Length of videotape: 3 Minute Maximum.
• Mini-DV tapes or VHS only.
• Clearly labeled with your name and location.
• Content: Tell who you are and why you would make the ultimate Top Model.
• Be creative. Part of your video should include you showing your best runway walk.

Please bring all of the above items to the Open Casting Call in a 9x12 or 10x13 envelope.

The following are some questions you may be asked at the open casting call:

Answer honestly and with lots of energy and personality. Make sure you answer in complete sentences and talk directly to the camera not to the person interviewing you.

1. Why do you think you could be America's Next Top Model?

2. What will you bring different to the show next season that the other girls have not in the past seasons? (i.e. type of personality, attitude, etc.)

3. Which girl from either season are you most similar to and different from regarding personalities? You can pick more than one person.

4. What qualities do you possess that would make you a great model?

5. What is your best physical feature in your opinion?

6. How competitive are you?

7. Would you do anything to win the competition?

8. Is there anything you would not do for the competition to win?

9. Describe your "true" personality? How would your friends describe you?

10. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?

11. What do you think about your competition outside in the line today? How do you compare yourself

Video taped submission instructions are listed on the Eligibility Requirements sheet. If you decide to submit a video submission instead of attending an open call, follow the instructions carefully. The application deadline for individual videotape submissions will be 11:59pm, PST, March 13, 2012 or as may be modified Producers.

How much models get paid

There is no one average pay rate for models. How much a model is paid for any particular job depends on many different factors such as the market the model is working in. A runway show in Miami might pay less than a runway show in Milan, Italy. The level of the model is also a major factor. A model who is "hot right now" or a "supermodel" would command a much higher rate than a more novice, lesser known model. And of course, the type of modeling job makes a big difference in pay scale.

Unlike actors, there is no union such as SAG governing the modeling industry, therefore no wage limits are imposed on employers of models. The pay can be as little as minimum wage to thousands of dollars per shoot and upward.

What They Say vs. What They Mean

Unscrupulous model and talent scouts have their acts down pat. Listen carefully to read between their lines:

"We're scouting for people with your 'look' to model and act."
I need to sign up as many people as possible. My commission depends on it.

* "Your deposit is totally refundable."
Your deposit is refundable only if you meet very strict refund conditions.

* "You must be specially selected for our program. Our talent experts will carefully evaluate your chances at success in the field and will only accept a few people into our program."
We take almost everyone.

* "There's a guaranteed refund if you're not accepted into the program."
Everyone's accepted into the program. Forget the refund.

* "You can't afford our fees? No problem. You can work them off with the high-paying jobs we'll get you."
We demand payment, whether or not you get work.

* "Commissions from our clients are our major source of income."
Our income comes from the fees we charge you.

United States Modeling Legal Requirements for Foreigners

You will need an American Model Agency certified by the United States Department of Labor to sponsor you for an H1, B3 Visa. If your Visa is approved you can work legally in the United States for up to 3 years. Visas can be renewed.

You must be a model of "international acclaim". This means you must have modeled in other countries. Generally the United States Immigration and Naturalization Service will require tear sheets from several magazines you were in. If you have never been in any magazines, it is considerably more difficult but still possible.

Wardrobe for modeling agency interviews

Always dress properly for interviews with agents. Dress sexy, fashionable, and look tall. Clothing that highlights your best assets help greatly.

You need to wear something that allows them to clearly see your bust, hip and waist measurements. The typical model wardrobe is skinny jeans or leggings and a fitted top, with high heels. You could also wear a fitted dress as long as it hugs your figure.

Do not dress like a stripper. Sexy is very different than cheap or vulgar. Hair, skin, nails must be done perfectly. Makeup must be light and natural.

Important Safety Information

NEVER meet someone outside of a professional environment such as a photography studio or modeling agents office. Do NOT meet someone at a restaurant, private residence, etc. You should ALWAYS let someone else know EXACTLY where you are going, WHO you are meeting, and WHEN you are going there.

Let the photographer know that you have informed someone of your whereabouts, and bring a cell phone.

Make sure that you know exactly what the shoot consist of, and never feel pressured to do anything that you do not feel comfortable doing. If nothing else go by your gut feeling.

Remember your body is yours, and if anyone comes within your safety zone, be sure to let them know. I have found that more reputable photographer's will NOT touch you. If you feel uncomfortable as stated before, tell them so. That is your right.

On a professional fashion shoot there is usually a stylist there who will keep your wardrobe neat during the shoot, but make sure anything they do is not inappropriate.

And a parent or guardian must ALWAYS accompany minors. A parent or guardian should NEVER be out of eyesight of the minor, whether it be at go-sees or on a photo shoot.
